Ingredients

- 2 large ripe oranges
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Wash the oranges and slice them into thin rounds (about 1/4 inch thick), removing any seeds.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until dissolved and bring to a gentle boil.
- Add orange slices to the syrup, reduce heat to low, and simmer for about 45 minutes until translucent.
- Carefully remove slices with tongs and place them on parchment paper to cool completely.
- Once cooled, roll each slice in granulated sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
- Serve immediately or package as gifts.
