Description

Delicious grilled skewers made with smoked sausage, fresh bell peppers, and pineapple, brushed with a tasty maple glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage (kielbasa or chicken)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
  • 1 cup bell peppers (red and yellow), chopped
  • 8 wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes if using; otherwise, wash metal skewers.
  2. Cut the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces and chop the bell peppers into squares.
  3. Thread the sausage, bell peppers, and pineapple onto the skewers, alternating ingredients.
  4. In a bowl, mix maple syrup with a dash of soy sauce and minced garlic to create the glaze.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (400°F).
  6. Brush assembled skewers with the glaze and grill for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until caramelized.
  7. Serve hot on a platter with any remaining glaze drizzled on top.
