Description

Delicious homemade fried donut holes, perfect for a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk 2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp salt until combined.
  2. In another bowl, mix 1 cup milk, 1 egg, 2 tbsp melted butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Slowly combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently until a thick batter forms. Tip: do not overmix.
  4. Heat 2 cups oil in a deep pot over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
  5. Scoop batter using a small scoop and fry for 2 to 3 minutes, turning until golden brown. Tip: keep oil temperature steady.
  6. Drain on paper towels, then roll warm donut holes in remaining 1/2 cup sugar mixed with extra cinnamon.
