Description

This delicious slow cooker quiche is perfect for breakfast or brunch!


Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup diced ham (about 6 ounces)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Grease the inside of your slow cooker (crockpot) lightly with cooking spray or butter.
  2. If using, place the unbaked pie crust in the bottom of the slow cooker, pressing it up the sides slightly. It’s okay if it doesn’t go all the way up.
  3. Sprinkle the diced ham and shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the bottom of the slow cooker (or over the crust if using).
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and optional garlic and onion powder until well combined and slightly frothy.
  5. Carefully pour the egg mixture over the ham and cheese in the slow cooker.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours, or until the quiche is set in the center and a knife inserted near the middle comes out clean. Avoid cooking on HIGH as it may cause the eggs to become rubbery.
  7. Once cooked, turn off the slow cooker and let the quiche rest, uncovered, for about 15 minutes to make slicing easier.
  8. Garnish with chopped chives or green onions if desired. Slice and serve warm.
