Description

A delicious apple cobbler with a sweet topping that highlights the flavors of fresh apples.


Ingredients

  • 6 large apples (like Granny Smith, Fuji or Honeycrisp)
  • ¾ cup water
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • 6 Tablespoons melted and cooled unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel your apples, then slice and set them aside.
  2. Combine water, brown sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, vanilla extract, apple pie spice, and salt in a saucepot.
  3. Add the sliced apples and bring to a simmer. Cook 4-5 minutes. Set aside.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350℉. Lightly grease your 9×13-inch baking dish. Transfer the cooked apples to the baking dish.
  5. Make the topping by combining flour, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl. Add milk and melted butter. Stir until just combined.
  6. Spread the topping over the apples.
  7. Bake the apple cobbler for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Cool before serving.
