Description
This delicious smoothie combines ripe banana and blueberries for a refreshing drink.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup almond milk (or any dairy-free milk)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker smoothie)
Instructions
- Gather all the ingredients and ensure your banana is ripe for the best sweetness.
- Peel the ripe banana and break it into chunks. Place it in the blender.
- Toss in one cup of blueberries. If using frozen blueberries, there’s no need to thaw them.
- Add one cup of almond milk or your preferred dairy-free milk.
- If desired, add maple syrup or honey for sweetness, chia seeds for extra nutrition, and vanilla extract for enhanced flavor.
- If you prefer a thicker smoothie, add a few ice cubes.
- Secure the lid on your blender. Blend on high until all ingredients are smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
- Pause to taste the smoothie. If it’s not sweet enough, add more maple syrup or honey, and blend again briefly.
- Pour the smoothie into a glass. You may want to garnish with a few extra blueberries or a slice of banana on the rim.
Notes
- Ensure to use a ripe banana for the sweetest flavor.
- Adjust the sweetness according to your taste by adding more honey or maple syrup if needed.
- This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh, but you can store it in the fridge for a short time.
